Legacy Equity Advisors
Legacy Equity Advisors Story
In 2009, I made the decision to purchase a beautiful home in the Aviara section of Carlsbad. Instead of paying cash, the mortgage company introduced me to an innovative financial product known as “Reverse for Purchase”. After careful consideration and analyzing the numbers, it became clear that by my making a 40% down payment I was not obligated to make Principal and interest payments for as long as I resided in the home. This strategy allowed me to keep the remaining 60% of the funds actively working for me in the market, while solely being responsible for Real Estate Taxes and Homeowners insurance.
As a CFP I began my own due diligence of Home Equity Mortgage products. I learned the following facts about Home Equity Mortgage products:
1.They were greatly misunderstood due to how and who were marketing them.
2. Home Equity Mortgages are complicated and need to be part of an individual or family’s retirement plan.
3. The Home Equity Mortgage Loan Officer must be able to communicate and work with the clients’ other financial advisors.
4. Based on my years of experience in the financial marketplace I firmly believe home equity is a separate “Asset Class” and should be treated accordingly as a valuable asset.
As a result of my Due Diligence, I decided to leverage my 30+ years of experience as a CFP in hiring and training competent objective advisors for my financial service companies.
I decided to start my own company “Legacy Equity Advisors” to collaborate with Financial Advisors, Insurance Agents, and CPAs to provide Objective, Competent Advice on how to best use their clients Home Equity in their retirement plan recommendations to have a:
“Stress Free” Retirement.

Our mortgage payment was a big chunk of our budget each month but we wanted to find ways to reduce our expenses. We hear of reverse mortgages but were skeptical. So when our financial advisor suggested we talk to Ted Lange when were impressed. He addressed our concerns, led us through the process, and went to work for us. In fact, several years later Ted contacted us to refinance our loan giving us additional funds. It is great having Ted Lange, as a true professional looking out for you. We could not be happier with the results!
